Weather & Earthquake Watch: 13-22 January 2025
Astrometeorological predictions for the period 13 to 22 Jan 2025:
Heavy rain possible in Tonga and Fiji.
Heavy precipitation possible in several parts of New Zealand.
Extremely heavy rain likely in New Caledonia and Vanuatu.
Copious rain possible in Solomon Islands.
The area around Brisbane could receive some rain.
Possibility of a very strong earthquake in Japan, with the region around capital Tokyo itself looking vulnerable.
There could be higher than normal temperatures in the Sulawesi-Timor region, which in turn could kick up a quickly moving storm.
High winds possible in the Gulf of Tonkin.
High winds also possible in the Gulf of Thailand, which could be accompanied by strong rains.
The western coast of Sumatra to be windy.
Heavy precipitation likely in central and eastern Tibet and bordering areas of Sichuan and Yunnan. Heavy snowfall likely in Shigatse area and bordering Bhutan and Sikkim.
Most parts of India and almost all Nepal may be colder than usual during this period.
Very strong possibility of a major earthquake in north India, Xinjiang, western Tibet or western Nepal.
Very heavy rain possible at the Bay of Bengal coastline. Most of the coastline, all the way from Bangladesh right till the southern tip of India, looks highly vulnerable on the chart.
Many parts of Sri Lanka, too, could receive heavy rain.
Kerala coast, too, could see rains. Some rains also possible by the Maharashtra coast or in Gujarat-Saurashtra regions.
Landslide and/or heavy rains possible in the Western Ghats, probably in the Nilgiris or near Valparai.
Strong possibility of a major earthquake in the Levant, with Turkey, Cyprus or the Jordan-Israel-Sinai Peninsula region looking the most vulnerable.
Strong rains possible in the Cilician Plain (especially Hatay Province).
Cooler than usual weather possible in Guinea and Sierra Leone. This is extremely dry season in this part of the world, yet some thunderstorm and rain is possible.
Rains also possible in Cape Verde, even though it is a dry season there as well.
Earthquake possible in mainland Italy (especially Liguria region), Sardinia or Corsica. (One must note that an earthquake's occurrence is rare in the latter two.)
High winds possible in the Ligurian Sea.
Copious rain possible in Brittany and the Bay of Biscay. The Bilbao-Burgos area could see strong precipitation.
High amount of rains possible in Málaga area.
High amount of precipitation likely in most parts of the UK, Ireland and Faroe Islands.
Heavy snowfall likely in most parts of Iceland.
Strong rainfall possible in the region around Guyana and Barbados.
Strong rains also possible in Puerto Rico-Dominican Republic area as well as Turks and Caicos Islands.
Strong precipitation possible in the states of Chihuahua and Sinaloa.
Parts of the Great Lakes region and nearby Midwest areas may receive heavy precipitation.
Strong winds possible along with some snow or rain in Montana, Wyoming and Idaho region and the nearby Calgary area.
Heavy precipitation possible in Vancouver-Seattle-Portland area and overall in western British Columbia.
Northern California may see strong precipitation.
Heavy precipitation likely in the Alaskan Panhandle.
Strong earthquake or heavy storm possible around 151.6W longitude, with the Alaskan cities of Homer, Tanana, Anaktuvuk Pass and Umiat among those lying on or near this line.
